A leading organisation is seeking a Procurement Assistant to support the buying and sourcing of packaging materials, consumables, and project components. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners to ensure materials arrive on time, costs are managed efficiently, and production demands are met seamlessly.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

πŸ”Ή Place orders for packaging, consumables, and project items (local & import)
πŸ”Ή Track open orders and follow up on delays, shortages, and overdue shipments
πŸ”Ή Expedite, push, and pull orders as required
πŸ”Ή Manage call-off lists for stock-holding suppliers
πŸ”Ή Update shipment dates from freight trackers and monitor shipment status
πŸ”Ή Coordinate materials to and from 3PLs to fulfil demand
πŸ”Ή Oversee return processes and rejected stock replacements
πŸ”Ή Assist with sourcing new suppliers, obtaining quotes, and maintaining supplier lists
πŸ”Ή Maintain imports tracker, including payment and delivery dates
πŸ”Ή Manage import orders, documentation, and logistics for imports/exports
πŸ”Ή Assist with landed cost calculations and freight estimates
πŸ”Ή Support admin process for new product launches
πŸ”Ή Brief colour matches to suppliers and track progress to final approval
πŸ”Ή Liaise with Activation team for point-of-sale (POS) requirements and quote requests
πŸ”Ή Maintain POS tracker and delivery dates
πŸ”Ή Assist with innovation and gifting sample arrangements
πŸ”Ή Prepare weekly scheduling updates for seasonal imports
πŸ”Ή Maintain accurate administrative and procurement records


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

βœ… Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field
βœ… Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience (FMCG environment beneficial)
βœ… Experience using ERP inventory systems (Syspro or SAP advantageous)
βœ… Strong administrative ability with high accuracy
βœ… Advanced Excel skills preferred
βœ… Excellent verbal & written communication
βœ… Strong numeracy and problem-solving ability
βœ… Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay calm under pressure
βœ… Proactive, solutions-driven mindset
βœ… Able to confidently follow up and hold people accountable
βœ… Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers and internal teams


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Amanzimtoti – 3 days per week
La Lucia – 2 days per week
(Role is fully office-based)
