ABOUT THIS ROLE
Are you a technically strong finance leader with experience managing complex group structures within a property or asset-intensive environment?
A well-established and respected property development and investment group based in Umhlanga is seeking a high-calibre Head of Finance to play a pivotal leadership role within the organisation.
This position reports directly to the CFO and requires a hands-on, technically astute finance professional who can oversee the full finance function while supporting strategic decision-making at an executive level.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
🔹 Oversee and manage the full finance function across the group
🔹 Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements (IFRS compliant)
🔹 Manage complex group accounting structures, consolidations, and inter-company transactions
🔹 Provide strong technical accounting leadership and interpretation of accounting standards
🔹 Lead audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors and advisors
🔹 Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
🔹 Support the CFO with strategic financial analysis, board reporting, and key initiatives
🔹 Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
🔹 Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
✅ Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
✅ Minimum 10 years’ post-articles experience
✅ Strong exposure to complex group structures and consolidations
✅ Advanced technical accounting and IFRS expertise
✅ Experience within the property sector or asset-intensive environment (highly advantageous)
✅ Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
✅ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
