ABOUT THIS ROLE
Are you an experienced retail leader with a strong sales background and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service?
A well-established organisation is seeking a Retail Branch Manager to take full responsibility for the successful operation of a busy branch. This is a hands-on management role where you will be actively involved on the shop floor, leading your team, driving sales performance, overseeing stock control, and ensuring smooth financial and administrative operations.
The ideal candidate will be commercially driven, customer-focused, and confident managing both people and branch performance in a fast-paced retail environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Sales & Performance Management
🔹 Drive achievement of branch sales targets and revenue growth
🔹 Monitor sales performance and communicate progress with sales staff
🔹 Oversee daily sales coordination and order processing
🔹 Manage quotations and back-orders, ensuring clients are updated on ETA’s
🔹 Identify and prioritise key stock items to maximise sales
Branch & Operations Management
🔹 Lead, manage, and support in-house sales staff
🔹 Conduct strategy meetings and weekly sales performance reviews
🔹 Oversee personnel management (performance, discipline, training, attendance)
🔹 Monitor daily and monthly stock counts
🔹 Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
🔹 Liaise with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding urgent deliveries and stock queries
🔹 Ensure compliance with health & safety standards
🔹 Implement and maintain stock control policies and procedures
🔹 Manage exports and related documentation
Customer Service Excellence
🔹 Provide hands-on customer assistance on the shop floor
🔹 Offer product advice and guidance
🔹 Handle refunds, complaints, and problem resolution professionally
🔹 Demonstrate product use and provide warranty and maintenance information
🔹 Ensure warranty processes and documentation are completed accurately
Finance & Administration
🔹 Oversee debtors, creditors, IBT’s, and general administrative functions
🔹 Reconcile accounts and assist with payment allocations
🔹 Authorise credit notes and review invoices
🔹 Ensure accurate cash-ups and POS reconciliation
🔹 Maintain branch asset register and manage expense claims
🔹 Process inter-branch transfers and manage documentation flow to Head Office
🔹 Oversee scrap and warranty invoicing and banking
🔹 Manage attendance registers and general branch administration
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
✅ Matric
✅ Minimum 5 years’ retail branch management experience
✅ Proven sales track record with strong commercial ability
✅ Strong leadership and people management skills
✅ Excellent customer service and communication skills
✅ Computer literate (MS Office)
✅ Valid driver’s license
✅ Professional, mature, and well-presented individual
✅ Persuasive, persistent, and results-driven mindset
