ABOUT THIS ROLE
Are you a highly experienced Senior Financial Accountant who thrives in a structured, process-driven environment and enjoys working across multiple entities?
A well-established organisation within the cold storage and frozen goods sector is seeking a seasoned Senior Financial Accountant to support the Financial Manager and take ownership of full financial accounting, reporting, and compliance functions.
This role is ideal for a technically strong, analytical professional who is detail-oriented, methodical, and passionate about maintaining strong internal controls while driving continuous improvement within the finance department.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
🔹 Prepare month-end files, including reconciliations of all Statement of Financial Position accounts
🔹 Compile monthly schedules for month-end close across various entities
🔹 Prepare and process journals across multiple entities
🔹 Conduct financial analysis and prepare management reports
🔹 Prepare VAT and taxation calculations
🔹 Review and sign off invoices, GRVs, and payments
🔹 Manage fixed asset control across various entities
🔹 Prepare for and assist with annual financial audits
🔹 Prepare for and assist with BBBEE audits
🔹 Support the Financial Manager with project roll-outs and departmental initiatives
🔹 Assist with day-to-day management of the finance department
🔹 Ensure sound internal controls and compliance processes
🔹 Manage statutory administration requirements
🔹 Perform ad hoc financial and administrative duties
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
✅ BCompt Honours (minimum tertiary qualification required)
✅ Completed articles
✅ 10–12 years’ financial accounting experience in a medium-sized company
✅ Strong understanding of internal controls and financial processes
✅ Advanced Excel skills (essential)
✅ Solid IT knowledge with relational database experience (Crystal Reports advantageous)
✅ Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving ability
✅ Methodical, process-driven, and highly detail-oriented
✅ Energetic, positive, and adaptable to change
✅ Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
