A leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Instrumentation Technician to join their engineering team at their Driefontein. In this hands-on technical role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems to ensure efficient and reliable plant operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
🔹 Maintain and repair all instrumentation, process control, and automation systems
🔹 Optimise control systems across production lines to improve efficiency and performance
🔹 Provide technical support to production teams on electrical and instrumentation issues
🔹 Conduct both planned and unplanned maintenance on equipment and systems
🔹 Ensure all process control software is backed up and updated according to company standards
🔹 Supervise subordinates and ensure all work meets required quality and time standards
🔹 Manage and monitor critical electrical and instrumentation spares
🔹 Support continuous process improvement and assist in maximising production output
🔹 Address product quality issues related to process lines
🔹 Perform electrical support work up to 525V
🔹 Assist with panel building and electrical fault finding
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
✅ Matric and a qualification in an instrumentation-related trade (T2 or N5 minimum)
✅ At least 5 years’ experience as an Instrumentation Technician or in a similar technical role
✅ Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming
✅ Solid experience in process control, automation, and electrical systems
✅ Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and analytical skills
✅ Excellent organisational, supervisory, and communication abilities
✅ Ability to work independently and under pressure in a production environment
